Almost finished with “Seattle Stairway Walks”! Today was yet another walk left in West Seattle, the Schmitz Preserve Park walk and a bit of Alki Beach.

Finally! I am back to walking and trying to finish the “Seattle Stairway Walks” Book. The walks that are left are all out in West Seattle, aka, “Japan”, aka, “The Edge of the Continent”
Only five or six miles from my house, it’s taken me twenty years to actually find and go to Kubota Gardens. What a shame. It is so beautiful.
The longest steps in the city travel between Capitol Hill and Eastlake. It’s a great walk.
Saving this walk for a day of chores, it was more of an architectural tour than a stair walk. Still, the hills are steep and I learned a few new things.
I had great hope for this walk, but it was mostly dreary, soggy, and sullen.
One big set of stairs, and a winding walk along the bluffs above Lake Washington’s northern end. Not much to say.
Both the farthest from Seattle and the shortest walk, it was a perfect spring day for “Seattle Stairway Walk No. 23. Burien: Eagle Landing Stairs”
The best thrift store in Seattle, a roadhouse straight out of the 1930’s, and one very long wicked set of stairs! It’s Mercer Island.
Such a gloomy day! So we stay close to home and finally do the “official” Mt. Baker Stairway Walk.
Rising steeply from Interbay, the Southwest corner of Queen Anne has lots of stairs, ass-busting steep streets, and a one very sweet, though sad, playground.
Mostly a walk along one of Seattle’s most popular beaches, the Stairwalk No 3: Golden Gardens, was a perfect walk to talk and catch up with family.
