The first night was like being in a hull of a ship; surrounded by fog, very cold, and a bit of quiver due to the wind.
Small rodeos are the best and we were lucky to see the fellows at work at the Grant County Spring Fair.
I stopped for a bit of bird looking around the Potholes at Moses Lake. While it’s been around 60 degrees it is still very early spring with hardly a bud on the tree. I passed an early season bike tourer, loaded down and heading out of Ellensburg.
The trains run day and night through the center of Spokane. Elevated, you cross under them to get into the center of the town. On the south side of the tracks, there’s shelters, empty lots, and dive bars.
While we were eating lunch, I got to hear a few pesky bear stories and one about a cougar that’s been stalking elementary school children. I really miss living in the West.
