A weekend of beach walks at Twin Harbors State Park near Westport.
A few shots from our recent birding adventure, 40 miles off the coast of Washington.
Our annual trip to Grayland was filthy with rain, but plentiful with oysters.
I’ve recommended this before, but for early Spring “camping”, the Grayland yurts with their bunks, lights, and space heaters can’t be beat.
The road from Grayland skirts the cranberry bogs, before rounding Cape Shoalwater into Willapa Bay. For over 150 years, Willapa Bay has been the center of Washington’s oyster industry, shipping oysters by steamer to San Francisco a long time ago.
Barbecued oysters are now one of my favorite foods. I would very much like to go bicycle touring where an essential piece of gear is the oyster knife and a bottle of tabasco.
