The Azalea Above the Interstate

Azalea Above Interstate

Last year, I had a New Year’s resolution to “Write a Song”. I know nothing about how to do this and it did not happen.

A week ago, in some bout of procrastination, I started once again delving into some audio software. I am now doing quite a bit of audio planning for our Entre Ríos Books, so the more I know or can figure out how to do at home, the more money I can save.

That said, buying a keyboard was not on the agenda, nor was watching hours of Lynda.com videos. But I am having much fun, so I figured I could make an interesting strategy on learning how to write music by the following game:

1. Take a picture of something every day on my fitness walks.
2. Write a song about one of them.
3. Post a one minute song once a week.
4. Learn how to write short songs.
5. GOAL MET!!!

So that’s what this new category “Compositions” is about: a bit of sharing my learning process and a bit of accountability.
