Schmitz Preserve: Stairway Walk #18

16 Oct ’14

I’ve long heard of the beauty of Schmitz Preserve, a narrow creek that runs up a gorge from the beach up to the bluff above filled with old growth trees, but I’d never been into it. It’s lovely in there, though it’s pretty small and most of the walk is along hilly residential streets. Again, I was joined by Sunshine and once again, we tweaked the route a bit. In this instance, instead of starting/ending on a boring residential street at the top of the walk, we started on Alki Beach so we could have some coffee first. Otherwise, the walk is the same, one big up and one big down with some great views along the way.
