Laziest Vancouver Weekend Yet

18 Feb ’14

Vancouver. It’s close. We know it well enough to not feel like we need to rush around looking at new things. It was raining, we were exhausted. Again.

So I can report that on our three day weekend, I never made it out of Gastown. My favorite cafe, Nelson the Seagull, is there, where I spent hours and hours reading John Clare. Our 10 year maniversery dinner was just a block away at the very delicious Cork & Fin. We had dinner one night at the trusty Guu and one other (uninspired) dinner at the hotel. Other than that, there was a lot of sleeping in, napping, and lounging when napping seemed unappealing.

This time we stayed at the well-rated Hotel Le Soleil. I can only recommend this hotel is you stay in a corner King Suite, otherwise the rooms are too small and claustrophobic. The service was great, the parking free. I’d stay there again, though Vic said he wouldn’t. We’re still looking for the right blend of comfort and price in Vancouver, so if you have any recommendations for hotels, I’d love to hear them.
