BoiToi was sure sick. At the shop for over two months, while we waited for an new engine, while different parts came in, while budgets were adjusted, tears shed, parts added, wish-lists changed and changed again.
After two weeks of treating our van super gently with its new engine, we’re off on a much longer drive down I-5 to Eugene.
Our shop kindly dropped us a note this week, “We recalled you were heading to the OCF next week and wanted to make sure all was well with your van? Feel free to swing by for a quick, free, fluid top off/belt check before you leave or on your way out.”
Well, OK! That’s sweet. And even sweeter, we’ve got a clean bill of health with no leaks, and it looks like we’re ready to roll. We’re still going to have drive at variable speeds every ten minutes as we break in the engine, but that’s a small price to pay for having our van tougher than it has probably ever been.
Time to burn some Phish CDs, find some of that fine Washington bud, and hit the road! Hurrah for a working Westy…and oh boy, OREGON! Woot!
All of our van work has been done by Peace Vans. We like them. They recently moved into a bigger shop, with even more workers to fix your van. If you are in Seattle and need some work on your van, give them a call.
