Westy Comes Home

18 Oct ’13

After a year of plotting, of begging, of strong scientifically-based arguments on why exactly a VW Westphalia Camper Van would be the perfect car for us, one finally came home!

Now, perhaps, the Peace Vans pre-inspection should have scarred us off? Or maybe the way, Ted went to go get his wrenches to fix a squawking belt before we could even drive it away?

Oh, heart! What foolishness you’ve gotten me in before. Vic says its name is “Boitoi” and that sounds about right to me.

We’ve had it out just one brief night at the hootenanny that is Dash Point Campground, where we found it odd to be camping instantaneously and life is making a bit tough to see a longer trip anytime before Christmas, but that also gives us time to learn the ends and outs of this thing. Like, how do we start that stove?
