Too Nice to Ride Fast!

Olives (and off screen Rosé) at Picnic
Some days are just too lovely to hurry about. Better to ride slowly, taking your time to wink at folks on cute bikes and yelling, “Hey! That’s one cute dog!” to the dog walkers. Unless, of course, their dog is ugly, which it is fine to just politely ignore while laughing in the inside.

I had a few errands to run around town and realized as I passed a sign for house made charcuterie that I’d skipped lunch. I wheeled my bike around and stopped at the very cute Picnic on Phinney Ridge. It’s not cheap eats, but this place does have a delicious food for the civilized cyclist. Olives, salami sandwiches, beet salad, lovely cheeses, and several daily wines to pick from.

For a day when all you want to do is love everything around you (or an afternoon returning from some audacious ride returning from the Interurban North), sitting out on the sidewalk at Picnic is one easy way to keep the love-vibe going. It’s also a short walk to Woodland Park if you feel the need for an actual picnic.
