Treasure Trove

3 Jun ’09

Seattle Newspaper 1951

I’ve always wanted to find old papers between the walls of a house while remodeling; all the better if that old paper happens to be cold cash currency.

Here’s a scrap I found while ripping apart the rotting porch.

It’s a classified section of a Seattle paper from 1951, primarily truck or heavy equipment listings. There’s quite few ads seeking older model (1940-41) cars for cash. Phone numbers in the old style. Address quaintly downtown, considering the major car lots now are all out in Renton or Puyallup.
