Sunny Ensenada!

19 Jan ’09

Ensenada, Baja Norte, Mexico

With a free ticket to use—we went somewhere with some sun.

Having never been to Baja, I was captivated and am excited to get back, go further, and be gone longer! This trip also happened to be my first real stay at a gated “resort” hotel with not much to do except be in the pool or read in the shade of our patio for several days. It was a much needed, blissfully simple holiday, with just a hint of adventure in finding the bus stations to take us back and forth to the border and eating plenty of ceviche from street vendors.

Next time with the bikes?

much as I love ceviche, that might be where I draw the line at street vendor food. Seems like barely-“cooked” fish is not the kind of thing I want to eat from a push cart.

It’s the Aguas not-quite Frescas that I typically avoid on the street!

Though Vic had us avoid a fellow chopping clams, I was drooling for them.

Just look at those two sassy Mexican fishermen. So muy suave, compared to the Pike Place mongers. I thought it was Vic in the thumbnail.
