Pleasure of Fresh Tape

29 Mar ’09

It’s not only some tight tape on my handlebars that’s got me giddy, it’s the replacements to some worn and slipping brake hoods.

New cables, some fresh lube, and brand new Gatorskin tires, the bike is zippy and ready for summer.

The only downer the recent repairs, is the new bike computer that is replacing the one that fell off last year. The Cateye Strada is too small to read easily when it’s mounted on the handlebar stem. I also can’t figure out a way to alternate the large reading of MPH with other info like cadence. It was a bad purchase.

I’ve been thinking about how much Vic’s been using his Google phone to track his ride in the last month and giving a similar ap a try on my phone. Perhaps, we’re looking at the tail end of even needing a bike computer.

These repairs done by Lang at CycleU. Go see him.
