The First Salad

2 Apr ’08

Despite last week’s odd several days of snow, we ate our very first salad out of our new garden. It’s the tender, bright taste of Spring! Composed mainly of the faster growing French breakfast radishes, it also featured beets, brown dutch lettuce and black kale.

As for the Arugula? I had a nibble, but it will likely be another week or two before we’ll get to make a plate of it.

From now on, I’ll always start and end the season with a cloche. It is brilliant.
