Vain, the First Avenue hair salon (and Seattle institution) is hosting the group show City Life, a collection of Polaroid pictures by photographers from Seattle, Portland, and New York.
“We asked for instant film takes on the ‘City Life’ theme for the show, whether the subject be a street scene, skyline, night out, buildings or people. The response and presentation is a varied look at urban living through Polaroid lenses that you won’t want to miss.”
My pal, “RedButtons” Ed Lisieski is in it, as well as Damien Jurado, an amazing local songwriter, whose cd, And Now that I’m in Your Shadow was easily one of my favorites last year.
The opening reception is this Thursday (First Thursday) June 7th from 6 to 10pm.
The show is up now and runs through June 30. Oh, and while you are there, make an appointment with Krista, nearly fresh out of beauty school and a great stylist. She did wonders with my balding head.
