Prepped for Brevet

6 Apr ’07

The SPDs are off, replaced finally by some Power Grips sent by Jim. I’ve gotten around to adding the amazingly bright Planet Light rear light that Vic’s been using. On top of that, with the magic of black electrical tape, I’ve added three front lights of various types to my front rack to get me through what might end up being 6 hours of night biking. It’s not pretty, not ideal, but I hope it will get me through.

I just got home from pre-breakfast at Top Pot, added a wool sweater to my pannier and I’ve done what I can to be ready for the 300K ride.

It’s supposedly a course of rollers around the entire Hood Canal. The day looks like it is going to be stunning and I hope I can catch the 1:15 am ferry home. Otherwise, what is a long day is going to be that much longer.

What happened did you run out of doughnuts? Yumm Top Pot 🙂
We had an epic day – I bought some styling new work socks at the QFC and non eco friendly toe warmers – with flats for both me and Bob it was a 20 hour adventure.

I’m dying to know how you like the Power Grips. Update?
