A few weeks ago, I mentioned that I’d say something interesting about found photos. However, after working all day in unseasonably hot weather to get my show up, I haven’t a bit of wit nor seriousness left. “Everyone knows how to use a camera.”
“Lost Vacation: Found Photos on Going Places, 1972-1983” opens on Sunday at 8 pm, right here in Seattle.
If you are in town, stop in, say hi, and drink some whiskey.

years ago I worked as a mover…
all sorts of insight into people’s lives
divorces…
midnight moves…
and of course
death
one time I moved all this crap for a man who had died
this man had started the first airline magazine
he had photos from all around the world
he had flown into every airport in the world
including the north and south pole
there were stacks and stacks of photographs… all being thrown away
I grabbed some handfuls
I am sure they are moldy and gross by now
but it hurt me to see this documentation falling through the cracks
I also have all sorts of maps and trinkets from these moves
I am a bit of a pack rat
You sound like a pack rack, J.
Interesting that guy starting the first airline magazine. That sounds like someone with good stories.
