Wounded Warriors Bike Trip

25 Jan ’06

These guys won’t get big endorsements, folks aren’t wrapping their arms in rubber bands for them, and they are not likely to end up with rock star girlfriends.

I saw this today via Joel. I thought I’d help pass it around. I can’t say I agree with all the hooohah self-improvement writing on the site, and I’m skeptical of anything Fox News, the war-mongering hypocrites, claim to support. But you take one look at these pictures and if these guys aren’t tougher than any Alp climbing Euro race pro and more deserving of your respect and admiration, well then something is wrong with you, buddy.

They are looking for a mechanic who can travel along with a group of vets as they bicycle across the country. I don’t have the mech skills, otherwise I’d go. Here is the info:

The wounded and maimed (a large percentage now live with injuries that 10 years ago would have killed them) are going to pay to “improve the revenue-enhancement cycle” of the VA? Does Mr. Buyer want a cut of their Social Security to pass it on to his HMO friends? You can read about that here.

My father, veteran of two wars, agent orange cancer survivor, who has had his VA benefits cut by this hypocritical “Support the Troops!” administration.

Go ride your bike. Count your blessings.

That is pretty funny. Yep, thanks for posting about these guys. I’d never heard of them before and wish I had time to get better at mechanics to help them out. Maybe next year. It is a cool and important thing they are doing.
