The Nikon D80

18 Sep ’06

An unexpected delight of blogging is the photography. Taking pictures, manipulating them in Photoshop, and then coding them into the blog, while time consuming, adds quite a bit of pleasure to the hobby. I’ve run the gamut of inexpensive point and shoots and quasi-SLRs in the last several years. There’s certainly benefits to these cameras, but what’s been lacking is having a tool that I can grow with.

This is the new Nikon D80 I brought home last week.

Officially, a “joint purchase” decision gone bad, I am completely delighted and intimidated. It’s a behemoth that should fit snugly in the new Ortlieb handlebar bag. If all goes well, improving my photography skills will help focus the blog refresh I plan on doing this winter once the rains get going.
