A Cold and Lonely Place

7 Jul ’04

That would be the Dutch coast of my imagination. In reality, despite the chill and incessant wind, the Dutch are out to the make the most of the short summer they have. I think there is nothing that will keep 80 year-old Dutch women off their bikes or away from the nudist beaches.

I am in terrible shape. My bike is too heavy. The wind never stops blowing in my face. When can I stop for more ice cream and coffee?
